I'd like to start off our gaming with a sort of ice-breaker game that just came to mind. Let's call it "Commonalities".
In a way, it is a little like a truth and lies game that I played a lot during childhood where one would make three statements. One of those statements would not be true. The first person who picks out the correct statement as false then gets to take a turn. Since we are not all guessing at once, I would like to alter the game.
I will start by making three statements, all of which are true.
- I live in the United States.
- I enjoy text-based roleplay games.
- I have pets.
The next person will begin by declaring one of my three statements as a commonality between the two of us. Afterwards, he or she will then proceed to share three facts about him-/herself. It is common sense, but please remember to not share important personal information such as real names, addresses, and so on. The person after that will declare a commonality between themselves and the previous person before offering three facts. And so on. And so forth.
Okay. So it's not exactly a game but it is definitely an icebreaker. Perhaps after playing, a discussion might rise up in another thread inspired by one of our discovered commonalities.
